Berkshire Seniors team played their last friendly match of the season yesterday against Sussex at Copthorne Golf Club near Gatwick.
After all the rain we have had, it was lovely to see the sun was shine! After reasonable journey on the M25 and M23 to just past Gatwick, we arrived at Copthorne.
Sussex had a strong team out and with the course playing long due to the wet weather, it was not going to be easy for the team. Unfortunately, we lost all the matches, though Pamela and Jacqui did manage to take theirs to the last hole.
Though it was a tough day for the team but there was a highlight of a hole in one by Charlie Keenan. This one she did see go in the hole, as the last one at the Midlands South Finals, she had bent down to pick up her tee and missed it going in the hole!

As most people were traveling, rather than buy a drink, she presented all the players with a Copthorne Golf Club ball marker.
The team was Charlie Keenan (East Berkshire), Paula Morris (Royal Ascot), Pamela King (Winter Hill), Jacqui Quilter (Sand Martins), Claire Randall (Sonning), Nicki Ewart (Sonning), Gillian Godson ( East Berkshire) and Pat Jenkins (Maidenhead)
