Held at Temple Golf Club – Monday 12th May

Many thanks go to Temple Golf Club for hosting the Inter Club Shield competition, one of the biggest County competitions with 19 Berkshire Clubs taking part.

We were lucky to have a warm, sunny day for golf, although the occasional thunder roll kept us aware of the risk of lightning, but thankfully this came nowhere near.  The teams were fortunate enough to enjoy the fantastic views from the club house before and after play.

Thanks must go to Keith Adderley, Club Secretary, the bar staff, Frances, George, Will and Lyle, and the catering staff, Stuart and Delphina who looked after us all throughout the day and to Temple Ladies’ Captain, Moria Chaplin, and her team of Ladies who took turns in starting the teams and ball spotting on a couple of the holes.

The Inter Club Shield is an individual Stapleford competition, played in teams of three from each club with the top two scores for the team to count for the prize.

Overall, there was a complete mixture of scores and there were quite a few players who excelled.

The County President, Tracy Crew, was on hand to present the prizes and congratulate the winners.

The Winners of the 2025 Inter Club Shield were Sonning – Sarla Read, Elspeth Cooper and Ann Le Marinel – with a score of 75 points.
