Holly Lund wins Junior Autumn Cup

Congratulations to Holly Lund who won the Junior Autumn Cup with 38 points

The Juniors’ Autumn Cup was played at Castle Royle on Sunday 17 October.  Despite the weather having been forecast as ‘fine’, heavy rain fell in the morning.  Nevertheless, as everyone started to arrive at Castle Royle the rain stopped – even if the sun didn’t quite come out.  The weather was warm enough for most players to be in short-sleeve shirts – a bonus for mid-October.

The course was in fine condition and the greens were smooth but ‘slippery’.  Leave the ball above the hole and probably a 3-putt resulted.  Even the home members found the greens tough.

Thanks must go to Castle Royle who gave the youngsters the courtesy of the course – and who had the novel idea of producing picnic bags at the halfway house as the girls were playing over ‘lunch’.  The players were very appreciative.
