Berkshire Seniors team played their last league match of the season yesterday against Hertfordshire at Sand Martins Golf Club. The team played some great matches, winning 3 convincingly, halving 2 matches and 2 narrow losses. This gave us a 4-3 win which was enough to carry us back to the top of the leaderboard and win the league with 7 points, despite there still being one fixture to play between Hertfordshire and Oxfordshire. During the season we beat Hampshire, Buckinghamshire and Hertfordshire and drew with Oxfordshire.
The highlight of the day was a hole-in-one by Pamela King on the 12th which we celebrated along with our overall win with a bottle of champagne.
We were delighted to welcome Gayle Kennedy to our squad for the first time whilst Debbie Ranwell and Pamela King had their second matches of the season for the Seniors league team.
Sand Martins could not have looked after as better and everyone enjoyed the course.
In addition to today’s team a significant contribution from Linda Hunt, Katherine Irving and Jules Tarr has propelled us to victory this season. Together, we have enjoyed wonderful team spirit, great camaraderie and determination to bring the trophy back to Berkshire after 3 years without it.
