BLCGS Match v Berkshire Vets (BCLVGA) Thursday 1st August 224 at Mapledurham
This was an ‘away’ match for us played on a somewhat hot and humid day. Fortunately everyone
finished before the very heavy downpours which saw some local flash flooding. The staff at
Mapledurham & BCLVGA Vice-Captain, Anne Le Marinel, ensured that the day went smoothly with
very welcome cold water available at the half-way stage to allow us to refill our supplies and very
good food both before and after the match. The course was in very good condition although most
people found the greens faster than anticipated.
As is always the case with this fixture all matches were played in a very friendly atmosphere since
most players could have played for either team! On this occasion those playing for the Lady Captains
had the upper hand and the result was a 5 – 2 win to us.
