A full field of 51 players from 15 Berkshire clubs took part . It was unfortunate that the weather deteriorated as the day went on and the later starters finished in the rain. The waltz format is popular but many participants needed reminding that the scoring went 111 then 222 then 333 scores to count and not 123, 123,123.
The course was in great condition despite having undergone recent maintenance work. Pace of play was excellent . Maidenhead staff were very helpful on the day and Gwen King, the current Maidenhead Captain , and former Captain Beate McGuinness generously gave their time to act as starters . A late change in food offering, from sandwiches to lasagne and salad was popular and all dietary requirements were catered for.
