Thank you to Sonning Golf Club for hosting this year’s Presidents Salvers Competition. We had 62 players from 16 clubs across Berkshire.  The day was cloudy with some rain but that did not daunt our field of players, there were some great results.

We would like to thank Andy Brett, General Manager, Jennifer Parker and the team in the administration office for all their help in organising a very enjoyable day.  The course was in lovely condition, thanks to Matt Smith and his team of greenkeepers.  Our thanks also to the catering staff for an excellent lunch and the bar staff for all their help throughout the day.

Lady Captain, Sue Hardyman, and her team of helpers were a great support both on and off the course, they welcomed all our players, helped with starting and ball spotting.

Airlie Dyson, Lady President gave her speech thanking all involved for their hard work.  She also announced that her term of office, as President, was ending and Tracy Crew would take over next year.  We would like to thank Airlie for all her help, advice and support during this competition. Airlie then went on and to present the prizes.

I think it gave everyone great pleasure to see Deirdre Cuthbert and Jo Grieve winning the Presidents Salvers.  Deirdre has organised so many of our competitions over the years, she has given many hours to our organisation and is always helpful, knowledgeable and willing to give advice on all competitions.  It was lovely to see her winning a prize.
