On Thursday, 22nd May, 77 Berkshire Lady Captains – past and present – gathered together at Castle Royle to celebrate at their Diamond Anniversary Spring Meeting. With 1965 as the theme (without the fancy dress), guests were welcomed to music from the year and a presentation on one of the TV screens of highlights of that year. There was also a 1965 quiz as they came in from their round of golf and a celebration cake at the halfway hut.
Fortunately, the run of good weather held and, despite numerous comments about the pin positions and the bunkers, the course was in excellent condition and the ladies enjoyed themselves with many wonderful comments on the day and since. The wonderful buffet, in particular, was the highlight especially among those who had struggled to score!
