Berkshire Womens Golf hosted the Inter County Senior Team Championships at Mill Ride today in beautiful sunshine.
The competition features 10 teams of 4 players with the best 3 aggregate stroke-play scores winning the trophy.
Berkshire were represented by Jane Sly, Tracy Crew, Linda Hunt and Donna Hunt playing against teams from Buckinghamshire, Essex, Hampshire, Hertfordshire, Kent, Middlesex, Oxfordshire, Surrey, and Sussex.
The course was in fantastic condition with extremely slick greens that proved challenging for all players.
Sussex were the winners by one shot from Surrey with a score of 247 and Hampshire were 3rd. The Sussex team; Aileen Greenfield, Clarissa Bushell, Paula Carver and Katherine Russell received the trophy and a memento each from our President Airlie Dyson.
Berkshire achieved 5th place with 257.
Huge thanks to the team at Mill Ride which included many volunteers organised by Lady Captains Lyn Newdick and Sue Gemmill as well as BWG referees Fran Campbell, Elspeth Cooper and Ann Williams; scorers Gill Athey and Deirdre Cuthbert and Ann Pennell for her on day coordination. They made it a truly magnificent day for everyone to enjoy.
